Marshmello and Deadmau5 continually beef and throw shade at each other. The animosity stems from from them both going after the helmet gimmick. Deadmau5 says he created the movement and is a good enough producer to be able to utilize a little bit of a gimmick. On the other hand he claims Marshmello is using the face hiding technique to get away from a failed moniker and trying to fool fans with generic pop infused generic tracks.
So in short, it is all incredibly petty and dumb. About a year ago Marshmello released a massively successful music video for ‘Alone' which featured him feeding a pet rat named Joel. This was quickly taken down and the video was re-uploaded suspiciously without that scene. Well yesterday in honor of Halloween, Marshmello doubled down on his beef and released a cooking show on how to make chocolate covered dead mice, and even featured the edited out video clip while playing ‘Alone'. More power to you Marshmello – that being said we would all love it if artists could all stop beefing with larger artists to gain publicity (were looking at you Medasin). Watch the video below.
