It has just been a few days since new school rapper Lil Peep overdosed off of Fentanyl laced fake Xanax. It was a blow to the music community as a whole. Many believe Lil Peep had incredible potential to become a rapper at the top of the game. His fusion of both emo and hip hop elements help speak to a wide audience of fans. Many of those fans also are part of the dance music community as well.
Last night during Marshmello's show he played a tribute to Lil Peep that tons of fans captured. It was a brief but beautiful moment where Mello played out Lil Peep's smash hit ‘Beamer Boy'. Once again the passing of a rising star to drugs has ignited the debate of drug culture in music negatively affecting all involved.
