For years before Sam Feldt became a household name in EDM households across the globe, Sammy Renders had been making waves in the world of Entrepreneurship. Over the past few years, the Tropical-Deep house phenomenon has driven his career with his masterful production and ability to drive crowds insane with his live performance both solo and with his Live band. As if it isn’t enough that Sam has garnered one of the largest followings on Social Media in such a short time, he has taken it upon himself to deliver a platform that makes it easier to interact with artists and recruit even more of a following.
After raging to the forefront of the EDM world in 2015 with his hit single “Show me Love” that still bangs at Festivals and Clubs around the world, Sam asked himself a simple question:
“Who Are My Fans”
Noticing that his number of followers were skyrocketing on Facebook, he realized his work was doing good and his following was increasing exponentially. However, how does one fully grasp just who his fans are. On a personal level. He said in an Interview with Business Insider:
“The only way to achieve that (understanding his fanbase through Social Media Platforms) is by spending a fortune on a sponsored post or run an ad campaign,” according to Renders. “The people that like my page are saying: I love this music and want to hear more of it. But when I post something, they don’t automatically get to see my message. That seems weird to me.”
To attempt to fix this overbearing problem, the DJ-Entrepreneur decided to create a StartUp called “FanPage” where he would have complete control over fan correspondence and relationship building. Having studied Marketing at Avans University of Applied Sciences, he took to the Marketing world and led an agency in his home country of the Netherlands. Before he turned 14, Sam created a company and registered it in the Netherlands. The web store was called “Callium.nl” where he created a platform to dropship electronic goods from China to Dutch customers. He created a partnership with business man Jasper Schrijver who he has recently partnered with again on his most recent endeavor “Fangage”.
“Fangage” has experienced exponential growth since its inception just 12-months ago. Since the launch, Sam has attracted roughly 20,000 devout fans to his site. On “Fangage” Sam has the ability to communicate directly with his fanbase. Whether it be sending out Texts, emails, news, new music really anything, Sam has created a community of “Feldt-iens”.
With quick success, Sam has won over fellow international stars Oliver Heldens and Laidback Luke. For them, he has used his platform to create the same tightly knit fan bases where they can learn about their fans and directly communicate! The now CEO of “Fangage”, Schrijver is running things from the forefront with Sam being responsible for all Marketing activities. A third-partner and co-founder, Nick Velten has taken on responsibilities as COO and CTO.
They are making money in many ways through this marketing masterpiece. According to Business Insider, “The standard package starts at 175 euros a month. This includes building and hosting a website for the artist or influencer. Several add-ons, such as a ticket shop or web store to sell merchandise, are also available.”
Through emailing systems and text messages from https://www.fangage.me/case/heartfeldt-me/, it is has been studied that 95% of the recipients open these messages and roughly 70% actually click on the attached link. When looking at Facebook, this was really the kicker. I scroll through the feed on Facebook often and often like posts, but rarely do I click on links. This platform has already proven to be bringing great growth in artist interaction. I can only imagine how other DJs are responding to these analytics, to me, seems a no brainer.
On the music front, Sam has been killing it lately with the drop of not one but TWO albums, one of which was a surprise to fans. “Sunrise” and “Sunrise to Sunset” have proven already to be garnering insane streams on Spotify and other platforms (link below)
Check out Sam’s “Fangage” page and join in the fun. It’s truly amazing to see such a busy dude crushing it with such an entrepreneurial mindset!
