Hailing from France, Orkid popped up on the Circus Records radar when he remix Flux Pavilion’s huge “Cut Me Out.” His remoulding was intricate and nothing short of original. The label then asked to hear some more music, then teamed up with him for a couple of free downloads in the way of “Lava Planet” and “Fresque” earlier in the year.
Now, Orkid’s has released his debut EP This is not Club Music. The release comes filled with the three previous Circus tracks and three new recordings to the label in the way of “Some Kind of Plains”, “Stop Your Lying” and title track “This is not Club Music.” The EP is a heart on sleeve expression of Orkid’s sound, everything is left on the field, no emotions held back. Tied with his influences of late 20th century science fiction, this extended player comes together to wrap Circus’s 2017 with another huge leap forward in their sonic exploration.
