Calabasas, California is a luxurious L.A. suburb tucked away in the Santa Monica Mountains known to host residents such as Britney Spears, Kanye West, and Justin Bieber to name a few. Because of that, it should come to no surprise that artists have been singing about this suburban hideaway for years now, in particular, rap artists such as Drake, Yo Gotti and The Game and now its time for EDM to take its turn in interpreting this city in their music.
The boys of Tritonal have collaborated with Sj again (their previous venture, “Hung Up” gained 30 million streams on Spotify) to create the aptly titled track, “Calabasas”. This dance-infused pop style shows off evoking vocals that tell the story about going up Topanga Canyon Boulevard to see a lover and never wanting to return to the city after the breakup.
This track lands on the day that Tritonal celebrates their 200th episode of Tritonia, which is taking place in Seattle. Sj recently signed into Tritonal's Enhanced Music label and has released tracks including his latest, “Flicker“. I sat down with Sj late last year and he discussed what we can expect from him this year, you can read that here.
