DJ Snake Merges Cultures With Latest Single – ‘Magenta Riddim’

In the past few years Riddim has become a house hold name for electronic music fans. The genre involves the still heavy but more rhythmic side of dubstep. Many are not aware though that Riddim was first a genre which involved traditional Jamaican dance hall beats. So while many possibly thought that DJ Snake‘s latest single would be his take on heavy bass, he in fact is paying homage to a sound much more routed in tradition.

‘Magenta Riddim' combines the sounds of many different cultures, but above all features a dance hall beat. While the song still definitely slaps, it is more relaxed than the last few releases from Snake. Overall it is an awesome song which pays tribute to countless different musical styles. ‘Magenta Riddim' will find it's way to main stages all festival season long and undoubtedly be remixed to within an inch of it's life. Check it out below.
