Having only recently delivered his For Love Remix EP for Ultra, producer filous is continuing to develop as one of the hottest electronic talents around right now. Whilst out on the road with Mat Kearney, we grabbed his Musical Guilty Pleasures to get to know him better…
1) Technohead – “I Wanna Be A Hippy”
I'm normally the last person you'd catch listening to happy hardcore, but this song is just on another level! The almost punk-like approach of the singer with the completely over the top instrumental just makes you feel something! A perfect tune for a relaxing Sunday morning.
2) Modern Talking – “Cheri Cheri Lady”
I don't even know where to begin with this song. Somehow whenever I hear it I just can't resist moving. What a beat!
3) Avril Lavigne – “Sk8er Boi”
Avril Lavigne was my first crush. I remember watching the music video a thousand times and getting way too hyped listening to it. When I hear this song now it makes me super nostalgic of that time!
4) Meshuggah – “Bleed”
When I was around 14 I became a huge metal fan. I had long hair, black leather boots, XL band shirts and 8-string guitars. Today I still sometimes relapse and catch myself listening to some good old black Pagan death viking metal!
5) Chet Atkins – “Jerry's Breakdown”
Sometimes there's just nothing better than listening to some good old school folk guitar shredding. From time to time I get a little too confident and try to play this on my guitar – not a good idea!
