It is unreal to think that Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso's chart topping, once in a life time track ‘Calling (Lose My Mind) has already turned 6 years old today. I distinctly remember being at Electric Zoo 2011 and hearing the instrumental version being mixed into every set imaginable, dying to know what song it was. That was in my early days of EDM, 6 years later I look back fondly at how that track inspired me in profound ways.
While the instrumental edit of ‘Calling' was spectacular alone, the otherworldly vocals by One Direction's ‘Ryan Tedder' added a euphoric element that bordered on the sublime. This track has gone down as one of the best dance music songs ever made, and for good reason. If you don't sing along to this track the second you hear the intro begin the build, then you are lying. Take a listen below to the track that marked the peak of progressive house and the beginnings of big room.
