Following the news of Zedd's new creation for the National Geographic show ‘One Strange Rock,' Daniel Pemberton is proud to present the official One Strange Rock soundtrack on Lakeshore Records.
The score unfolds over four chapters creating an enthralling musical accompaniment to the visually spectacular National Geographic 10-part series. One Strange Rock was directed by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem For A Dream) and hosted by Will Smith and eight legendary astronauts tell the story of our interconnected planet on a trip across 45 countries, six continents and outer space. To help personify this show, Pemberton creates a sublime stand-alone listening experience both subtle and intensely dynamic.
“I wanted to make it much more of an immersive listening experience than just a standard collection of cues from across the series—something that reconnects you with the stories, the visuals and the world when you hear it,” says Pemberton. “I wanted the listening experience to harken back to classic albums from the seventies by artists like Pink Floyd or Vangelis—albums you’d play all the way through. The soundtrack is broken down into four parts—one for each side of a double LP. It’s a continuous musical trip made for listening and not shuffling.”
