Tokyo Electronica producer, Healing Spells, is now finished with his latest project and we couldn’t wait much longer to finally listen to what he’s been hiding for so long. “Past Lives” is the newest EP that he states is the greatest achievement of his so far in his career. “Creating this EP was a way to reconnect with my true self. Somehow, for several years, I had lost touch with what I really enjoyed as an artist, and I looked into my soul to recover lost emotions. Past Lives is a reference to my previous travels, where I had several occasions to be in awe with the world. This time in my life felt distant as if in past lives, however I knew there was still a connection. Past Lives is about finding that connection again.”
We find his statement beautiful because he found the thing that he lost in his past to love what was once the center of his life. It’s so relatable to many of our lives because we constant search for that same feeling that we once had, the one that made us truly happy. Why else do you find people always referring to the good ol’days. Of course, we can never go back in time and relive those days, but why can’t we get as close to that feeling as before. From the enigmatic vibes of “Levitate” to the enchanting trance that “Sleep Paralysis” is able to get you to feel. Past Lives brings new meaning to the word Electronica because it’s a state of mind, it’s a connection to the past that once brought you joy and happiness.
