“Long Distance” is the latest gem from rising LA producer Hoodboi, who is on a hot streak of singles leading up to his Breathing Room EP on Fool’s Gold out May 22nd.
Following the futuristic R&B collaborations “Glide” feat. Tkay Maidza and “Tip Of My Tongue” with TZAR (praised by NYLON as “a glossy foot-tapper that packs a seductive punch”), “Long Distance” is a duet with the voice inside the machine: chopped up, stuttering samples and emotive voicemails tell a heartfelt tale over house-inspired piano chords and Hoodboi’s uniquely digitized groove.
I've never heard of Hoodboi before the 1st single ‘Glide', but he is firmly on my radar now with some of the grooviest music on the planet right now. Listen to his newest groover ‘Long Distance' below!
