Diplo, Sia and Labrinth teamed up to form the new supergroup LSD. The trio released “Genius” today, May 3, the first off of their forthcoming album. LSD's debut track will be followed up by a second release entitled “Audio” sometime next week.
“Genius” features cheeky verses from both Sia and Labrinth, overlaying some seriously danceable beats courtesy of Diplo. Though the group name is taken from the first initial of each artist, the video features some pretty trippy elements throughout, reminiscent of the hallucinogen. After all, both Sia and Labrinth find themselves running away from a giant floating Diplo head.
Diplo truly is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to production and side projects. Aside from his solo Diplo endeavor, the Mad Decent owner makes up one-third of Major Lazer, one-half of Jack U, one-half of a collaborative project with Mark Ronson titled Silk City, and now one-third of LSD.
The release date and title of LSD's debut album is yet to be announced.
