The rather awesome RADIOZOO join us this week to share their 5 Musical Guilty Pleasures (which is always a tricky task for any artist). The duo has just released their new single “Closer,” which you can check out here.
1) Flume – “Never Be Like You”
Probably one of the best songs of this decade. Every bit of the song is just perfect. Yeah, a perfect track. Love it!
2) Kanye West – “Lost In The World”
Okay, this song is all about the vibe. That feeling the song transports is unbelievable. Makes me dance and scream.
3) Justin Timberlake – “My Love”
This was a real game-changer! And somehow the predecessor of Flume’s “Never Be Like You.” The coloUr, that feigned minimalism, that gated synth, the vocal percussions, that iconic tom roll… So many amazing details. We both go crazy for JT & Timbaland.
4) Daft Punk – “Da Funk”
The mixture and the musical quotes they processed in that track, the Barry White sampled groove, the simple but memorable melody, that acid-bass arpeggio and even that weird slow tempo of this track. This song was so anachronistic and yet freakin’ modern when it came out. I fell in love with Daft Punk from that moment on. They just have to be on this list.
5) Michael Jackson – Man In The Mirror”
This song is so iconic. I cannot describe how emotional I get when this song plays. The verses alone are like the best written parts in pop music history I’ve ever heard.
And of course we can easily name another 15-50 Tracks which were influential and crucial for our musical development. Yeah, naming only 5 tracks is technically impossible. So, if you wanna hear more about our influences you should follow our upcoming Spotify playlist – “The Influencers.”
