Pendulum is one of the most storied groups in the history of electronic music. While they have been around for quite some time, most of their fans learned about the group through their massive 2010 LP, Immersion. Easily the most beloved song on the album was ‘The Island'. The epic two-part track involves one of the most recognizable acapella's in all of EDM as well as a dark and twisted B-side that turns the tune on its head.
Many artists have tried their hand at remixing the island. Some notable edits of the track have come from Madeon and Tiesto. Now though, it seems that another artist has thrown their hat into the ring. Pegboard Nerds were gearing up for their EDC Las Vegas set on the Monstercat art car with some previews on Twitter. One of the tracks they showcased got fans talking – fast.
Pendulum – The Island (Skrillex Remix)
The duo played out a remix of the legendary tune that was unfamiliar to many. Still, some instantly recognized it as the Skrillex remix that never quite saw the light of day. The tune is not the hard bass edit that many expected but instead an otherworldly future bass remix complete with vocal warping. It sounds incredible. Check out the preview clip below.
