Avicii passed away just over a month ago. In many ways, it seems like much longer than that. The artist's untimely death hit the music industry as a whole quite hard. While Avicii‘s innate talent of bringing unlikely people together through his music will always live on, he will be gravely missed.
Reports over the last few days have shown promise of unreleased music seeing its release in 2018, and we saw some truly beautiful tributes to Avicii at EDC Las Vegas this past weekend. While the dance music community as a whole continues to grapple with the loss of Tim Bergling, the artist's family has been quietly making arrangements for his funeral.
Avicii's Funeral Details Emerge
While many were curious if Avicii's family would hold a public viewing or funeral they have officially confirmed otherwise. In a statement released to Billboard, the family said,
“There have been many inquiries regarding the funeral arrangements for Tim Bergling, known by music fans as Avicii. The Bergling family has now confirmed that the funeral will be private, in the presence of the people who were closest to Tim. They kindly ask media to respect this. There is no additional information forthcoming.”
Avicii's family has asked for privacy during this tough time as they lay to rest their loving son. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of Tim's family and friends during this difficult time.
