It has been over two months since Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell took the stage at Ultra Music Festival to reunite as Swedish House Mafia. The set was legendary. Not only did they play all the hits, but they also debuted new music. Some of which would be featured on Steve Angello‘s magus opus, Human, while others are still to see the light of day.
One thing stayed on fan's minds after the performance though. Was the reunion of Swedish House Mafia a one-off for the 20th anniversary of Ultra? Or would the group begin touring once again?
Axwell and Ingrosso Stoke The Flames Of Swedish House Mafia Tour Rumors
Last week Axwell/\Ingrosso played a set in Brooklyn to a packed house. During their set, the duo reignited suspicions of a coming Swedish House Mafia tour by saying “We may have to cancel the Swedish House Mafia 2019 show, I don't know if New York City is ready for Swedish House Mafia!”.
Well I mean, for me that is all I needed to hear in order to determine that SHM was, in fact, going to return to the touring circuit in 2019 but still, more information would soon become available.
Steve Angello Confirms The Swedish House Mafia Tour Rumors
This week in an interview with Swedish media outlet, Sydsvenska, Steve Angello was asked the interview question he knew he couldn't avoid. So would Swedish House Mafia return to touring in 2019? He answered, “Obviously we are going to be back”. There you have it folks, confirmation from all three members of Swedish House Mafia.
It seems that the guys have been both tired of the rumor mill and being hounded by fans and reporters alike. Steve also mentioned that not many details for the 2019 run have been nailed down, but indicated that a few dates are confirmed. Get ready world, SHM is back in 2019, and coming to a city near you.
