It has been near 6 weeks since Avicii passed away from suicide in the Middle Eastern country of Oman. The news shook the dance music community to the core and fans and artists alike are still trying to make sense of a post-Avicii world.
We have seen hundreds of tributes for Tim, and his passing has once again sparked the debate about how mental health is treated in the music industry. Tim's passing was shocking and painful for fans, and we cannot imagine the pain his family and friends are experiencing.
Private Funeral Held In Sweden
It was announced a few weeks ago that Tim's funeral would be a private affair closed for only friends and family. This was more than understandable. Today the BBC has reported that the funeral took place in Sweden.
Tim was buried at the world UNESCO world heritage site, Woodland Cemetary. While this is the culmination of many weeks of difficulty for Avicii‘s friends and family who had to endure several autopsies as well as the transportation of Tim's body back to Sweden, the grieving process has still just begun for many.
We are happy Tim is at peace now, and promise to do our part to make sure his music lives on forever.
