Rihanna has a few things up her sleeve. In addition to working on her album dedicated to her Carribean roots, the singer's team has collected close to 500 different tracks from different producers for a dancehall album.
One anonymous producer told Rolling Stone, “They’re only choosing 10 records. They’ve been having writing camps and trying to keep them quiet for almost a year and a half now. I’ve been flying to Miami, flying to L.A., cutting records nonstop for this project.”
Producers on this new album range from Supa Dubs, Boi-1da, Chronixx, Skrillex and more.
Rihanna has accidentally dabbled in dancehall music before. Her popular song “Work” was supposed to be full of pop beats but turned into a pop-reggae mash up the soared in the charts. Now, the RiTeam have their eyes set on a dancehall album for the decades.
