Good Morning Dance Music Fans! As we're always dedicated to bringing you the best in up and coming dance music, we also like to focus on all of the talent within the dance music scene, even if that talent doesn't involve production or spinning.
The Dance Music scene is a landscape of opportunity for honest, hard working individuals and is a utopia for collaborative efforts to lend a hand, creating some of the most diverse employment opportunities for young entrepreneurs. This is exactly the mindset of the Cruise Control Collective.
The company is led by Adam Leopold, CEO and two Senior Talent Buyers, Dylan Long and Ryan Burnett. The three have been close friends and business advisors to each other for years now and are excited to finally have a chance to launch their own company together.
Cruise Control Collective is a freelance talent buying consulting service with one ambitious goal: to simplify the complicated booking industry by booking talent on behalf of the venues. Their focus is within the electronic dance music industry, with the goal to grow to other genres. Cruise Control Collective aims to provide venues with an alternative to the expense of a full-time talent buyer while saving venues the often extensive time and energy spent negotiating and coordinating contracts.
CCC empowers venues who find themselves competing against corporate talent buyers such as Live Nation, Disco Donnie, Bowery Presents, and many others. We got a chance to sit down with one of the companies founders, Adam Leopold, a Philadelphia native, where the CCC is located. We wanted to first and foremost understand what kind of services and plans the company offers.
“We have two plans right now. We have a silver plan which handles all talent buying. The company, with knowledge on music markets all across the country, will work alongside the venue throughout the booking process. The venue provides us with specs, genres, budgets, capacity, etc. Using our grassroots networks, we then procure the best talent available for the venue, and handle artist contracts. Our gold plan goes a step further. We perform a comprehensive booking, taking care of the more complicated tasks such as travel itineraries, flights, hotels, riders, etc.”
After getting a general feel for the business, Adam let us know why Cruise Control Collective is different from any other agency that operates similar to theirs.
“We started Cruise Control Collective because there are honestly no companies like us in the industry that offer this service. We believe in the philosophy of not only furthering our business, but also empowering venues that struggle against monopolies in their areas. The booking industry in dance music is dominated by large corporations, and we're here to ensure the dance floors are packed with the best talent at independent venues across the country.”
It seems like Cruise Control Collective is ready to take the dance music scene by storm and elevate not only up-and-coming artists, but also help often struggling venues reach new heights, increasing clientele and making sure all parties involved are successful. Keep an eye out for Adam and his crew at Cruise Control Collective, and as Adam put it best:
“Let us take the wheel.”
