Germany Opens Up UNESCO World Heritage Site To Host Actual Underground Raves

Germany is known for many things – beer, starting world conflicts and, of course, Techno. Germany has always held its Techno roots in high esteem, protecting dance music fans and allowing for unbelievable clubs to operate on a near 24/7 hour basis. Most are familiar with Berghain. The most exclusive club in the world which is notoriously known for its general debauchery as well as strict no photo policy.

Now it appears that Berghain might have some competition for best rave spot in Germany. The Zollverein coal mine industrial complex is known for being a technological wonder for the mining industry. When it was opened in the mid-1800's the industrial world had never seen anything of such scope. The complex would go on to become a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its impact on the energy industry.

Germany has recently decided to open the site up for a few exclusive events each year. The main concern is that a UNESCO World Heritage site must be maintained in order to keep its title. Therefore, the events through in the underground portion of the mine must be few and far between.

Telekom Electronic Beats is hosting an event with Ben UFO, Objekt, and Shanti Celeste. These legendary house artists will undoubtedly give party-goers an event to remember.
