A few months ago ZHU sent out a cryptic tweet of a phone number. Of course, I bit and called the number. Soon I found out I was signed up for a text newsletter and was thanked with a preview of his new release. That would go on to be his enigmatic last EP, Ringos Desert Pt. 1. After that, I mainly forgot about the text newsletter, until the end of last week.
I received an ominous text:

21+ ONLY JOSHUA TREE, CA
TICKET REQUIRED FOR ENTRY
The text went on to explain how to secure tickets. It piqued my interest but living in Texas, I am not about to fly to LA, to then drive 3 hours to the middle of the desert. Even if this sounded like a once in a lifetime event. Today footage of his set from the Joshua Tree in the middle of the Mojave surfaced on YouTube and it is downright deliciously dark.
ZHU is ramping up to the release of his next EP. From the amount of music we heard in this dastardly set, we know it is going to be downright excellent. Check out the set below.
