Kygo Launches His New Record Label, Palm Tree Records

Kygo has achieved just about every milestone one can think of when it comes to electronic music. From winning awards to breaking streaming records, to even championing a new genre, the Norweigan producer has just about done it all. There was one thing that Kygo had not taken on it, but that all changed this morning.

In a partnership with Sony Music, Kygo has launched his very own record label. The imprint will be called Palm Tree Records, a tribute to his collective of friends, collaborators, and like-minded artists.

Tropical House Pioneer

Kygo is best associated with the explosion of the tropical house genre. Alongside artists such as Bakermat, Klingande, and Duke Dumont, Kygo helped bring the tropical house genre into the mainstream consciousness.

Soon though, his sound developed into much more than just a subsection of dance music. Several high profile collaborations and stunning original tracks helped cement Kygo as a true innovator of sound. In 2016 he was given the honor of closing the Winter Olympics.

New Horizons

In an exclusive interview with Variety, Kygo explained his excitement around the decision to begin his own label:

“I’ve always been very fond of working with talented, undiscovered artists in my own releases. It’s been an amazing process to watch these artists grow and now I’m able to help projects I love by offering a label and management service with an incredible team.”

We wish the best of luck to Kygo and his team on this amazing endeavor as we await the first releases from Palm Tree Records.
