Insomniac has debuted a complete overhaul of its celebratory year's end festival, Countdown New Year's Eve. Having tested out a two-day format for 2016 and 2017, the event is reverting back to a single-day bash and will take place on December 31st, 2018, returning to the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino.

Along with the change of dates, the festival has introduced an out-of-this-world theme intended to immerse you in an alien invasion setting. The thematic enhancements include four new stage designs The Mothership, The Nebula, Area 51 (hosted by Bassrush), and the Twilight Zone (house music).

Insomniac has yet to release the full lineup, but previous headliners include Deadmau5, Seven Lions, Zedd, and Alesso amongst many other big names in the genre.
