Kygo has quickly become a household name, regardless of if the households in question even enjoy dance music. Having been a pioneer of the tropical house movement, Kygo quickly helped make EDM more accessible to potential fans around the world. His collaborations with pop stars have quickly become chart-topping radio hits, the future is looking brighter than ever before for the Norweigan producer. His latest release ‘Happy Now' follows Kygo's usual formula to success.
Kygo – ‘Happy Now' (ft. Sandro Cavazza)
Kygo has truly found what works for him and stuck to his guns over the last few years. His latest single ‘Happy Now' demonstrates this point quite well. The song itself is incredibly catchy, upbeat and the vocals balance the instrumental sections brilliantly.
Overall though, ‘Happy Now' is in short, just another Kygo track. It seems that 2018 has been the year for many producers to work outside their comfort zones. Armin van Buuren and David Guetta are excellent examples of this trend. In my opinion, Kygo could benefit from taking some production risks.
In the same breath though, there is a reason why Kygo is climbing to the top of dance music faster than anyone else. I have to ask, “if I were him, would I try to fix what's not broken?”. And to be honest, probably not. Check out ‘Happy Now' below.
