The 2019 Grammy nominations have been announced today and we have to admit this might be the best round of dance music nominations the world has seen in quite some time.
Zedd Breaks Into The Mainstream
Most notable of this year's nominations are Zedd's nods for Record of the Year and Song of the Year both for his massive track ‘The Middle'. It is the first time since Daft Punk's iconic sweep of the 2014 Grammy's that a DJ has been honored with a Song of the Year nomination.
Dance Music Categories
In the world of dance music, the recording academy put together a decent list for best album and best song. For best song, FISHER‘s ‘Losing It' made the list as did Above & Beyond's beautiful ballad honoring Detroit, ‘Northern Soul'.
In the album category, Jon Hopkins rightfully leads the charge with his near perfect LP, Singularity. He will go up against the likes of Justice though, so it is no walk in the park to capture this year's Dance Album of the Year award.
