Marshmello has spent the entirety of 2018 releasing tracks that fall under just about every genre imaginable. From pure EDM releases featured on his Joytime II album to collaborations with the likes of Bastille and even total rap tracks like his most recent single with Roddy Ricch. As the year comes to a close Marshmello has let his fans in on a bit of what to expect as 2019 begins.
In one tweet Marshmello dropped a ton of new details. The most exciting of which is the fact that he is working on the third installment of his Joytime album series, which fans have become to know as his work that falls firmly under the dance music umbrella.
Mello also addressed new collaborations with rappers and pop stars. In the end, Marshmello explained that he never wants to be known as an artist who is only releasing under one style only. It sounds like 2019 is going to be even bigger for dance music's favorite masked man than 2018 was, and honestly, that is almost hard to imagine.
I’m working on so much new music right now. Joytime 3, a couple hip hop, and my next pop single. I don’t want to just stick to one genre, as a producer who loves making music nothing excites me more than pushing the boundaries🙏🏼
