The iconic Technics SL1200 turntable was given a makeover at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. The new SL-1200 MK7 is now a subtle black color instead of the traditional silver. The tough cabinet and two-layer structure platter is designed to dampen any skipping of your favorite records. There’s also a reverse mode feature, for those willing to journey to the dark side.

As the hype for vinyl is steadily climbing, enthusiasts will be pleased to see the turntable rise from it’s slumber. Panasonic discontinued the original SL1200 eight years ago. According to What Hi-Fi, the SL-1200 MK7 will cost $1200. There are also reports that the release date will be in May.
