If you didn't know, Hulu and Netflix have both been working on documentaries about the infamous Fyre Fest. Today, Hulu won the race. Fyre Fraud is now available on Hulu and gives us a look into what happened behind-the-scenes and the festival itself.
Hulu is calling their documentary a “true crime comedy” with interviews from Billy MacFarland and more. The Documentary takes us behind-the-scenes with the defrauded investors and attendees and how the festival quickly spiraled downward.
The trailer for this documentary starts out with the line “Fyre Festival was supposed to be the new Coachella or Burning Man” which to me, really sets the stage for what the fest should have been.
To make this even better, Hulu released Fyre Fraud on Netflix's media day for their documentary. It's an epic battle of the streaming services. While the documentaries seem to be similar in content, we can't wait to see how they differ. Until January 18th, we'll be watching Fyre Fraud.
