The state of Texas and music festivals do not have an amicable past. Outside of ACL, it seems that every music festival in Texas is destined to die. Let's run through a quick list of which festivals have fallen off in the great state of Texas.
- Day For Night
- Free Press Houston
- Middlelands
- Euphoria Music Festival
- EDC Dallas
- Something Wonderful
- Something Wicked
- Sun City Music Festival
Yeah almost unreal to see a full list like that. Well, another festival has stepped up to try and make up for the absence in quality Texas festivals. KAABOO Music festival released their inaugural lineup today, and well it is a bit odd.
A Little Something For Everyone?
KAABOO decided to take a rather interesting approach while curating their lineup. Just take a look at the headliners – Sting, Kid Rock, and The Killers. Then also Lynard Skynard, Little Big Town as well as a secret headliner.
The reception has been lukewarm, to say the least. The Festival Owl simply wished the festival the best of luck, while other commenters responded with sentiments like “even Republicans need music festivals too”.
Will KAABOO end up being the solution to Texas' music festival woes? Just maybe, after all, everything is bigger in Texas – even the confusion.
Did you guess right? 🎉🎶 Welcome to the first-ever #KAABOOtexas Music + Comedy lineup. pic.twitter.com/RDvGRRdBBP
