Panorama Music Festival, AEG's East Coast endeavor, which has shared many headliners with the company's better known West Coast counterpart, Coachella, will not be returning in 2019.
The festival made the announcement through Billboard today. The festival explained the reason to not hold a 2019 edition was based on continually having to settle for a location which was its second choice.
Location, Location, Location…
The festival has been held at Randall's Island for the last three years. The island also hosts Electric Zoo over Labor Day weekend and Governor's Ball in May. While the island is popular for festivals, it comes with a unique set of difficulties – mainly the transportation of guests to and from the venue.
The festival decided to not compromise its initial image for another year in hopes of gaining the venue it has always hoped for in 2020 – Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens. Whether this happens, remains to be seen. Only time will tell at this point. Read the full explanation via Billboard.
