French producer, CloZee, makes waves in the scene returning her unique “World Bass” to Envision.
Progressive, organic, and tribal are only the tip of the iceberg when describing Chloé Herry’s distinct and mesmerizing sound. Drawing musical inspiration from exploring cultures and traveling, CloZee's sophisticated productions are enjoyed by international fans from Denver to India. And there's no sign of her relenting anytime soon! CloZee further describes her influences, her sound, and performing at Envision Festival in a full interview below:
We have lots of talented musicians in Toulouse, and a good scene but it’s becoming harder and harder to organize events: in the past few years a lot of clubs closed (because of stupid reasons). We have a very active community and lots of organizers with amazing ideas but the underground scene is becoming very saturated and everyone is looking for a place to throw a show. That makes it harder for newcomers musicians to try to get their first gigs. Drum&Bass, Trance, Hardcore, Techno and House are very popular in electronic music. My first inspirations were edIT (from the Glitch Mob), Bonobo, Amon Tobin, The Flashbulb and Birdy Nam Nam.

In the past you’ve described your music as “World Bass” and your rich sound is truly organic, graceful, and intelligent. How does traveling the World impact your music creations? What locations have had the biggest impact on your sound? And why?
CloZee
I’m always looking for new experiences, the unknown is what inspires me. Traveling in new countries, and being infused with different cultures, landscapes and sounds is the most amazing source of inspiration. Japan and Costa Rica had the most impact on my music, because of their unique nature and atmosphere. On the sound aspect, Japan has the most beautiful traditional instruments to me. I don’t know why, their melodies and scales resonate a lot in me. The music of the Jungle of Costa Rica has the best natural harmonies.
This year will be your third time playing Envision! What elements of this festival keep you coming back?
CloZee
Everything! The whole festival ambiance, the engaging experience, the line-up, the stages design, hospitality, sound quality: everything is top notch!

Envision is much more than a music festival. Environmental conservation, social impact, and healing are significant aspects of Envision’s unique experience. Outside of performing, what impactful elements of Envision do you look forward to participating in? Will you be involved with the tree planting ceremony?
CloZee
I’ve always been to Envision during the whole festival because I just love to walk around with my friends and randomly stop at workshops or talks at the Village Witches, and of course hear great music. I mentioned I wanted to be involved in the tree planting ceremony, so I hope YES.

Have you done some exploration of Costa Rica outside of the festival or do you plan to this year?
Yes I’m always staying at least 10 days (including the festival) to explore and have some relaxing time.
