Ekali and 1788-L have been on quite the rise in 2018 and are getting bigger and bigger in 2019. With seemingly polar opposite sounds, I wasn't sure how a collab between the two would turn out, but “R U I N” has proved that it's a beautiful thing.
1788-L's sound is more electric and “robot-esque” and when combined with Ekali's dreamy, chillwave sound, it proves to be a near perfect track. “R U I N” starts with an eerie, techno opening, then dives right into the hard tech beats we know and love from 1788-L. Though, it's not long until we hear a dreamy soundscape from Ekali, taking us completely into another dimension.
Ekali has been teasing this collaboration for quite some time. From his Awakening 6 mix to live sets, this has been a highly anticipated collaboration.
The contrast between the two artists executed beautifully. It's the best of bost worlds, and we're definitely going to need more of this in our lives.
