Berlin's rising duo
twocolors have kindly shared their top five Musical Guilty Pleasures with us this week. They recently scored highly with the stomping “Make It Louder,” and take their inspiration from a plethora of genres.
Check out their picks below.
1) Frenship & Emily Warren – “Capsize”
This song could always play on repeat. It has such a timeless vibe: the drums are great and everything sounds so hooky.
2) Avicii By Avicii – “Dear Boy”
He was and is a special influence in our lives. When we just started listening to his music and nowadays, he is still so big for us. He was a musical genius with a special skill set as a producer. This remake of his own song brings so much energy and the sounds and arrangement is amazing.
3) Paul Kalkbrenner – “Azure”
Our hometown Berlin has a big influence on techno and the whole electronic music scene. We personally listened to many small and independent artists/DJ’s. Paul Kalkbrenner for us is someone with his own special sound – he made it to the mainstream but kept his soul and that’s great.
To be honest we listened to “Pop Life” over and over again. It's disco and electronic and is has this French vibe. Maybe not timeless as other songs, but the career the man built and his success is a milestone in the genre, plus he is still there after all those years. That's the best!
5) CHIC – “Le Freak”
This is disco and a great song from the 70s that we can always listen to. Songs like that in the morning work well, but also played loud while dancing. This is timeless and great music. Nile Rodgers is one of the best songwriters, producers and musicians and we love his art and collaborations! A real talent.
