Always one to illustrate the struggles of life with a silver lining, electronic music phenomenon ARTY is back with another masterpiece featuring singer-songwriter Cimo Fränkel, ‘Daydreams'. An escape from reality for dance music fans worldwide that erupts into a blaze of progressive house, ‘Daydreams’ is like a ray of sunlight driving the darkness away.
We got the chance to talk to ARTY himself about the new single, his musical sound, ADE & more, so check out his new single and the interview below!
1. Loving your new single Daydream! Cimo Frankel's vocals are absolutely magical on this track. How did you two link up on this one?
ARTY- I met Sophie, Rik, and Cimo through my management. They sent us a song last year and I fell in love with it right away. We did some minor lyric tweaks and then I started working on production. I did the first rough idea pretty quickly, just in couple of hours, but finishing it took me almost a year.
2. The drop on Daydreams is that vintage festival progressive house sound that we all fell in love with back in the early 2010s. You've really brought that sound big time in 2019 with Save Me Tonight, Sunshine, Avalanche, & now Daydream, what goes into making these vocal laced progressive house Gems?
ARTY – I think it’s all the great nostalgia for that time, back when I only started releasing my first tracks, everything that was happening with the dance music scene was so new and so inspiring. Progressive Big Room House has faded away in the past few years because of so many new genres. And I missed making and playing music like that in my live sets — music that's euphoric but still has more depth melodically. That’s why I’ve been focusing on bringing this style back in my music since the I released “Sunrise.”
3. ADE is just a few short weeks away, where can we catch you in Amsterdam this year?
ARTY- I’m only playing a show with my close friends Matisse & Sadko — for me this year’s ADE is definitely more about the meetings rather then parties.
4. What does the winter have in store for ARTY?
ARTY- After “Daydreams” I will focus on finishing the next big ARTY EP with 4 to 6 tracks in it. I've also been making a lot of music together with my friends that are very club oriented and I definitely want to share it with my fans as soon as I can!
