Kasbo gives fans two new singles ahead of his sophomore album The Making of a Paracosm. “Staying in Love” and “Skogsrå” demonstrate the fantastic talent that the ambient music-maker has to offer.
“Staying in Love” is a heartfelt track that speaks on the difficulties of love, as it can sometimes fade away. Although the affection subsides, there is a sort of desire to hold onto passion within a relationship.
To sing the touching yet sad lyrics, Kasbo brings Nea, a vocalist he previously worked with on his track “Bleed It Out,” to bring the song's powerful message to life. The Swedish songwriter's passionate vocals seem fitting among the DJ-producers high-energy beats and captivating melody. Her voice flawlessly sucks in listeners and emotionally impacts them within the first few moments of the track.
“Skogsrå,” on the other hand, is influenced by Kasbo's Swedish roots. The title is a reference to the symbolic forest typically found in Scandinavian folklore. Skogsrå is “the guardian of the forest,” a female creature said to steal the souls of explorers while leading them to become lost in the woods forever.
The new track consists of distorted synths and vocals; it brings a sense of eeriness to the listener, later transitioning to a compelling mythical sound. Kasbo successfully brings listeners in with this genre-defying single. Fans are sure to get a taste of what it's like to fall for the Swedish Skogsrå's foretold allure.
