Out now via Cloud Music, “One to Blame” is the latest from Mel Ody and Dominic Donner, a chilled out grungy indie electronic track for your listening pleasure. Read below on what the boys have to say on the release, and press play!
“‘One To Blame’ was a real challenge for me, but I’m always looking to get out of my comfort zone as a producer. When I was making the instrumental, I was hearing this kind of indie-pop song in my head that had this orchestral-electronic flair to it, and I love how it turned out. Dominic Donner’s vocal tone and lyrical content took it to the next level, I couldn’t have found a better person than him so I’m really happy we connected so well and brought this tune to life”
Dominic adds: “When I heard the instrumental for the first time I already had the vocals playing in my head, so I met up with my co-writer and friend Adam Wendler as soon as possible to find the right words. We ended up writing about a topic that many people, including myself, can relate to. The music business is full of people who’d do anything to get to the next level. I’ve met a handful of them and I made the mistake of trusting them, but I’ve learned my lesson. Let them talk shit about you if it gives them purpose, but don’t let them pull you under”
