Kicking off early Spring in the best way possible, Swedish DJ/production triumvirate Moodshift return with a second remix pack, this time around featuring reworks of their third original production, ‘Touch’. The new 2-track EP features a riveting remix from esteemed Oslo-based talent Simon Field, in addition to a driving reinterpretation from the enigmatic project, MNI. Out now, the 2-track ‘Touch’ remix EP is available to listen to across all streaming platforms.
Simon Field’s take on ‘Touch’ audibly features a darker-tinged tone throughout its entirety, in turn producing a dusky rendition that adds a palpably raw energy to its source material. The vocal is flawlessly complemented by the propelling house beat, as well as its infectious four-on-the-floor flair. Heavy synths, along with atmospheric production elements, aid in creating a sonically enrapturing remix that further showcases Simon Field’s impressive range of talent, as well as his inimitable skills in the studio. In all, his sprightly rework harkens back and nods to Moodshift’s original perfectly, while adding just the right amount of liveliness only Field is known for.
MNI’s remix maintains much of the same brooding energy in its first half, before quickly introducing a fun, hefty bass house rhythm into the sonic space. The funky beat lightens up the overall mood of the track with ease and sounds fairly similar to Moodshift’s original production but with edgier sensibilities. The nearly three-minute endeavor finishes with a barrage of bass, flawlessly rounding out the highly-anticipated 2-track EP with a hard-hitting panache.
