There's a chance you may not know the prolific London-born creative Hyper by name, but the chances that you've heard his music are high. The technical producer has lent his music to the likes of Blade Runner 2049, Cyberpunk 2077, Orange Is The New Black, and The Leftovers. Needless to say, Hyper has made quite the name for himself over the years, which has now led to his signing at deadmau5's famous mau5trap label. His debut single “Impact Weapon” is out now.
Inspired by social justice movements in his current home of Seattle, Washington, Hyper details a time of political and racial unrest in “Impact Weapon.” Sourcing actual audio from one of the Black Lives Matter protests in his town, Hyper's mau5trap debut builds impactful tension, unfurling into a cacophony of industrial synth work. Utilizing foreboding instrumentation to masterfully convey feelings of both unrest and empowerment, Hyper’s “Impact Weapon” is both reflective and introspective, all the while coated in unique industrial dance flair.
A sonic fusion of dramatic composition and impactful words for the now, Hyper’s mau5trap debut is an enthralling journey from its first note to its last, and comes at a pivotal moment in time.
