Returning back to the spotlight, DJ & Producer DAIJO reveals his newest single titled, “Black James Bond” out today via DJ/Producer Showtek‘s imprint, SKINK Records.
“Black James Bond” marks DAIJO's first release of 2021 and follows a number of highly successful releases such as “Oh Lord” in collaboration with Julian Jordan via STMPD Records and his rework of Tiësto & Dzeko‘s “Jackie Chan“. The track starts off with Qwiss‘ vocal work as the tempo increases and is followed by a energy filled drop. It's a festival ready single just in time for the summer and the ongoing 2021 festival season. Not only is this a summer banger but, there is a deeper meaning behind the song. Inspired by police brutality and the on going racism faced by millions, “Black James Bond” was created as a reminder for people of color, that they can be whatever and whoever they want to be regardless of their race. Take a listen now to this single!
DAIJO adds, “Black James Bond was inspired by the idea that anyone of any race could embody the spirit of James Bond. This song was written prior to the tragic murder of George Floyd at the hands of the police and the subsequent protests that followed, however at the time of recording, police brutality on people of colour was a major theme behind the track. As two minorities and people of colour, Daijo and Qwiss wanted to empower the listener and remind the world that Black or Middle Eastern, boy or girl, minorities can also aspire to be the next James Bond. “
