In the bustling heart of Montreal's vibrant music scene, there's a band making waves unlike any other. ZAPPIEN, led by the enigmatic Carlos Zappien, is poised to unleash their sophomore album later this year titled, “The Good Enough Days.” Comprised of four unique talents who have joined forces to serve a bigger purpose, the band is ready to hit their stride.
ZAPPIEN‘s story is one of determination, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of musical excellence. Born from the ashes of past projects and fueled by a shared passion for analog rock, the band is a testament to the power of creativity and collaboration. With Just Alan on vocals and guitars, Louise Selby on vocals and guitars, and Mathieu Tremblay on vocals, percussions and drums, rounding out the best of the best in Montreal’s live music scene, ZAPPIEN is a force to be reckoned with.
Carlos Zappien, the driving force behind the band, was born in Mexico City, raised in the northern city of Chihuahua and with an education in El Paso Texas, Carlos's musical journey began at a young age influenced by family. Inspired by the likes of The Beatles and fueled by a burning desire to create, he set out on a path that would eventually lead him to Montreal to build the first installment of the band ZAPPIEN early 2010s. But the road to success was far from smooth. Along the way, ZAPPIEN faced and recovered from numerous challenges, lineup changes, and the uncertainty of the global pandemic. Yet, through it all, the band remained steadfast in their commitment to each other and their craft.
With influences ranging from The Beatles to Nirvana, ZAPPIEN has successfully created music with a genre-bending mix of classic guitar hard rock, thunderous punk drums, alternative grunge, and pop sensibility. Their upcoming album “The Good Enough Days” has been two years in the making and the band is ready to make a statement. As ZAPPIEN prepares to unleash their latest masterpiece upon the world, one thing is clear, they are here to stay. With their sights set on collaborations with rock legends like Dave Grohl and Paul McCartney and a world tour, we can even smell a shot at the GRAMMYs, the sky's the limit for this fearless foursome.
