I will start this review off by saying that it is no secret that I freaking love Oliver Heldens. While at first his signature sound did not resonate with I have grown incredibly fond over time. In fact I can easily say that his set during Electric Forest Weekend 1 in 2017 was one of the best sets of music I have ever seen. With each release Oliver continues to perfect his sound, and his remix of ‘Sofi Tukker' is a masterclass of how production should be done.
The remix is minimal in nature. A simple and infectiously catchy house beat is laid up on the track, while still keep the focus on the vocals which made the original so successful. Oliver Heldens has a sixth sense of just how much a track needs to be altered in order for it to become his own through a remix. ‘Best Friends' the original was already a damn good track, but Oliver just kicked it up a notch and made a chilled out, yet dance floor ready edit.
