Mel G is a DJ and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. A member of the seminal Teklife crew and now record label, he has been instrumental in the spread of Footwork, Juke, and Ghetto House in New York City since 2012. Now he has partnered with L.A. imprint Black Marble Collective to drop his debut LP, The Light, and it’s a beautiful smorgasbord of all the internet-praised, aforementioned sub-genres (Footwork, Juke, Ghetto House + more). The ten track album features co-production via Nikes, DJ Hank, DJ Earl, & Durban, all of which whom play back and forth with the Teklife alumni to create magical and fun sounding bangers.
