It was the debate of the century. Who would be the special guest at Ultra 2018? Many suspected it would be Swedish House Mafia but the other camp desperately believed it would be the reunion of Daft Punk that the world desperately desired. In the end, the Swedes took the stage and the crowd went wild. But seeing the excitement of the crowd seems to have spurred on the robots a little bit.
The French Connection
Guy Manuel and Thomas Bangalter took to their official twitter account to announce that they would be joining the lineup for Lollapalooza 2018 this August. The announcement stunned the world, but seeing that their new production buddy, The Weeknd, is headlining – it does make a bit of sense. When fans asked what spurred the decision, Thomas responded,
“We are not going to let those fucking Swedes take all the fame, it's our time to shine now. Robots are back baby and we are gonna blow you away like a flat-earther on the ISS.”
No More Pyramid
Fans asked if the robots would be bringing their classic pyramid set up from the Alive 2007 tour. To which, Guy Manuel responded,
“No, no more shapes rooted in the third dimension. We will be performing from the center of a Tesseract.”
For those not aware, a tesseract is a four-dimensional cube. Which yes, does defy the laws of space-time considering we live firmly in the third dimension. How will the robots pull off this feat? That remains to be seen. A source close to them released a statement,
“Uhh we really never approved this, honestly we woke up today and like all the artwork was changed to feature them. We really don't know what the fuck is going on.”
Tickets are no longer available, nor were they ever. As it is now April 1st on the east coast of America. April Fools.
