Kepik has released his remix of the Gazzo X American Authors hit Good Ol’Boys. The San Francisco based producer was born and bred in Hawaii, and you can feel the island passion flowing in his works. This does not mean he makes trop-house, in fact his musical style ranges from Trance to Progressive to Future Bass. The talented producer has dropped a number of originals which have already received support from the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Myon, and Tom Fall. Kepik has also released a bevy of successful remixes for artists such as Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Adele, and Ellie Goulding. It was a remix contest for the Gazzo x American Authors song which Kepik won that brings this release to us now.
This take on Good Ol’ Boys pulls from different genres bringing the pop track into the EDM world. Kepik maintains the integrity of the intro until the first chorus where he takes you down the Future Bass path with expansive synths that mold the song to his liking. The most notable, and welcome, change is when the chorus returns for what is now the second drop. It is at this juncture that Kepik decides to shift gears and head down a drumstep path with hard kicks and a sharp snare. The track ends by returning to synth-driven future bass style just before tapering off with the focus on the melody.
