Whether you're a Zedd fan or simply listen to mainstream radio, you've definitely heard the smash hit “The Middle” featuring the electronic duo Grey and country-pop star, Maren Morris. This track nearly exploded when it was released back in January, climbing all the way to the top of Billboard‘s Dance Mix/Show Airplay charts and hovered in the top 10 of Hot 100 chart too. Morris also became the first country artist to land a number one spot on a Dance chart with this song. Needless to say, “The Middle” was a hit.
The song is a cumulation of Zedd & Grey co-producing and Morris' belting out quite possibly some of the most powerful vocals heard in electronic music currently. And while there's no denying the success of this track, surprisingly it's yet to be performed live with all parties involved…until last night.
Zedd was in the midst of a typical DJ set at Omnia nightclub in Las Vegas when he made an announcement to the crowd.
“I've got a very special guest tonight,” Zedd told the crowd. “We made a song together, but we've never performed it together. So this is the very first time.” Around 2:30 a.m., Morris made a surprise appearance on stage and belted out the lyrics to this golden song. While she made a quick stop, only performing that one song, she took to Instagram later that night to share some behind-the-scenes video of the performance and thank Zedd for having her with him in Vegas.
