Hanne Mjøen & Jimi Somewhere – Fall Down

It is a collision of Scandinavian talent this week as pop artists Hanne Mjøen and Jimi Somewhere combine to release “Fall Down.” This single is currently out for release through the wonderful Sailor Music.

Mjøen has been busy playing out across Europe and working on a variety of new material, whilst Jimi Somewhere only made his debut last year and is currently based in LA. “Fall Down” is a powerful, thought-provoking sound with edge, and is well worth checking out.

Slushii & sapientdream Unveil Transformative New Album Chrysalis

Los Angeles-based producer and genre-bending visionary Slushii returns with Chrysalis—an expansive 18-track journey that marks a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution. Released under his new creative label SONICdream, the album is a collaborative effort between Slushii and his ambient alter ego, sapientdream, mixing the emotional depth of singer-songwriter storytelling with the pulse of electronic textures.

It’s his most immersive project to date, with Chrysalis serving as both a musical statement and a conceptual cornerstone for the newly launched Sapient Dream webcomic on WEBTOON. Described as “a multi-sensory experience,” Chrysalis fuses introspective songwriting with glitchy synthscapes, ambient flourishes, and pop-leaning hooks, offering fans a dual experience: one in sound, one in story.

Anchored by standout tracks like “Feels Like Heaven,” “I Hope You Know,” and “Needed Your Heart,” the album explores themes of love, loss, and self-realization. The latter, co-produced with Samarth Dhawan and Grammy-winning mix engineer Dave Pensado, strips back Slushii’s usual high-energy flair in favor of a more spacious, vocal-led sound design—one that lets emotion dictate the drop rather than the other way around.

Paired with collaborators CloudNone, SPIRIT LINK, and TIFFVNYJOY, Slushii stretches his sonic palette across electronica, ambient pop, and cinematic instrumentals. “Chrysalis,” by name and nature, signals metamorphosis. It’s raw, yet refined. Dreamy, yet grounded. And very much a diary disguised as a dance record.

The album’s visual extension, Sapient Dream, released in tandem with the LP, follows Kuro, a seemingly average teen thrown into an intergalactic war after a chance encounter with a mysterious sludge creature. With each episode of the webcomic soundtracked by tracks from the album, the project paints a vivid, synth-washed universe where music and narrative drive each other forward. It premiered July 6 on WEBTOON following a major Anime Expo panel and DJ set.

Keep an eye on Slushii as he continues evolving his sound from the mainstage to the meditative.
