You have probably heard a bit of this song before when it existed as ‘Rawhide'. Before DJ Snake come into the project, the record existed as a collaboration between Skrillex and Yellow Claw. For some reason, that remains unknown, Skrillex could not see the project through to the end, but luckily DJ Snake stepped in to help bring the track to completion, and wow thank god he did. The final project is just as good, if not better than what we could've hoped from the original.
DJ Snake & Yellow Claw – ‘Public Enemy'
This track is a truly wild ride. Yellow Claw might have just made up for bringing out the Cash Me Outside girl during their EDC Las Vegas set with this one. Starting off slow with warped and filtered vocals, ‘Public Enemy' soon begins to build into a build trap banger then things change up HARD.
The drop hits and is a smattering of minimal, fast driving goodness. The sudden tempo change up will catch you off guard but immediately light a fire in your heart. The track repeats this pattern for going even hard on the second drop. This is a style of music I dearly miss and have not heard since Crookers was lighting up the scene in 2013.
DJ Snake has helped elevate this one to banger status. We cannot be gladder that Yellow Claw never let this one die and persevered through some small issues.
