The worlds of dance music and rap have started to blur together in the last year. While some artists have met this new development with open arms through genre-blurring collaborations, others have taken a more subtle approach. Case in point – Louis Futon. The artist has released a brilliant cover of J. Cole's ‘Kevin's Heart' with help from Armani White, BXRBER, and Bellah.
J. Cole – ‘Kevin's Heart' (Louis Futon Cover)
The cover is brilliantly done. It keeps the soulful melody of the original by injects a new level of funk through forward thinking production. The use of various artists on vocals which help supplement J. Cole's verse is nothing short of masterful.
The cover is eclectic, innovative and a ton of fun to listen to. We have been fans of Louis since his first releases off of Odesza's Foreign Family imprint. Needless to say, his time around the Foreign Family artists treated him well, as this cover is nothing short of breath taking. It is the perfect track for the end of the night after a party, or to play as background music while grinding away at school work or in the office. It is the kind of tune that you can get lost in and drift away to a different world.
Louis hit a home run with this one. Check the cover and Louis' tour dates out below.
