We are soaking up the sounds of Anna Mae‘s “Single-Minded” right now, and it works so well as an upbeat summer soundtrack. The singer and songwriter has inspired us to find out about the music she loves – check out her Musical Guilty Pleasures here.
1) The Knocks – “Classic” (feat. POWERS)
I loooooove this song so much and have listened to it on repeat driving around in my Jeep this summer. Give it a listen and you’ll totally hear why.
2) The Beach Boys – “Good Vibrations”
I love old music, especially The Beach Boys and The Beatles, and this song is a favorite for sure. In a music history class I took we examined this song and I learned that you can even hear where in the song the actual tape was cut and glued together. I love knowing those little quirks of this song!
3) Kim Petras – “Hillside Boys”
I heard this song a week ago for the first time but I’ve been obsessed ever since! It’s so fun and I can’t help but dance and sing along hearing this jam. It’s light-hearted and cutesy but in the best way.
4) James Bay – “Pink Lemonade”
I have a thing for songs that say the title just randomly once throughout the entire thing and this song does just that. Plus it just sounds really dang cool. James Bay did amazingly on this one. It even has a hint of Rooney sound, which I think is super fun.
5) Katy Perry – “Teenage Dream”
I still remember the first time I heard “Teenage Dream” and it really doesn’t matter how many times I hear it over again, it’s a forever favourite. From the guitar intro to the skin-tight jeans bridge, I love every bit of this masterpiece. It’s pop gold.
