To kick off his Elrow Town London DJ set and stir the rumor pot, Idris Elba played none other than the James Bond theme song during his set on August 19. The actor surprised attendees with the 007 tune, only to fuel rumors that he could take on the role of Bond. Daniel Craig is the current Bond star.
There has been lots of buzz around Elba taking over the roll as Bond. He recently even tweeted an instigative selfie featuring the text “My name is Elba, Idris Elba.”
It seems that Elba's set opening with the 007 theme was just another gasoline soaked log to throw into the ever-burning Bond fire of 2018. And it most definitely added some major depth to this burning pit.
Whether he's prodding at the Bond casting situation, or dropping clues, it seems that either way, Daniel Craig will be reprising his role of James Bond in the 2019 film.
